I grew up in Africa and the Lake District in the North of England . Most of my childhood was spent either scrambling about outdoors making dens and generally being wild with my brother and sister or endlessly drawing and making plasticine models.

After obtaining an Honors Degree in Fine Art painting I spent several years trying to find what it was I wanted to do as an adult. I was an art gallery assistant , a blacksmith and, for some years, an antique restorer before coming to live in Northern Italy in 1995.

Since then I've made props and scenery, models for sculptors and theme parks and then, finally, children's illustration.

I found what I wanted to do!!

I spend time in Italy and England, enjoying both for different reasons; The Lake District is so beautiful and my beloved family is there and Italy is just Italy frustrating, awe-inspiring, endearing... I love it!
